Depart from USA gateway to Naples, Italy. Italy has no single cultural identity. Its art, architecture, musical and literary traditions, scenery and its food and wine, from the Alps in the north to southern shores, lie in various regions.

Oct 19, Sunday: Arrival – Naples (D) Meet representative at arrival in Naples airport. Transfer to hotel in Sorrento. Welcome dinner at a local restaurant. Hotel Zi Tereza 3*moderate.

Oct 20, Monday: Naples – Pompeii & Amalfi Coast (B) Morning panoramic drive of Naples downtown and visit Pompeii. Afternoon Amalfi Coast drive to enjoy Amalfi and Positano. Hotel Zi Tereza 3*moderate.

Oct 21, Tuesday: Monte Cassino - Gaeta – Terracina - Anzio – Rome (B) Morning departure to follow the Italian campaign before check-in the hotel in Rome. First stop is at the Abbey of Montecassino, mother church of Benedictine order. Proceed to Terracina and Gaeta for a lecture about Hitler and Gustav Lines. Continue to Nettuno American cemetery and visit the Memorial. The last stop is at Anzio, Caesar Line site. Evening check in at the hotel in Rome. Hotel Nord Nuova 3* superior.

Oct 22, Wednesday: Rome (B, D) The city tour includes Vatican Museum with Sistine Chapel, Capitoline Hill, Colosseum and Roman Forum, Early evening meeting with US defense attaché and his staff followed by a Rome by night tour to see the Trevi Fountain and Piazza Navona. Dinner at a local Roman house in Trastevere area.

Oct 23, Thursday: Siena – Chianti – American Cemetery – Florence (B, D) Departure for Siena. Guided visit of the delightful medieval city famous for the Palio. Proceed to Tuscany Chianti region and visit a typical cellar for wine-tasting. Stop at Florence American cemetery and memorial before we check in at the hotel in Florence. Dinner at a local restaurant. Hotel Macchiaveli 3 * moderate.

Oct 24, Friday : Florence & Pisa (B) Morning Florence sightseeing includes Piazza del Duomo, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, Giotto's Bell Tower, the Baptistery of St. John and the Academy of Fine Arts housing the "David" by Michelangelo. Afternoon short drive to Pisa where we visit the leaning tower and Campo. Hotel Macchiaveli 3 * moderate.

Oct 25, Saturday: Bologna – Verona – Venice (B, D) Passing through the front line, follow Axis of Advance, Fifth US as we visit Bologna and Verona, town of Romeo and Juliet and the Roman Arena. Stop at Verona’s wine region for a wine tasting before arrival in Venice. Dinner at a local restaurant. Hotel Belle Epoque 3* moderate.

Oct 26, Sunday: Venice (B) A morning walking tour of the city to admire the Piazza San Marco, the Doge’s Palace, the Bridge of Sighs and the Prisons. Then visit a glass factory to see the molding of glass. Afternoon is free for optional tours. Hotel Belle Epoque 3* moderate.

Oct 27, Monday: Aviano - Lake Como (B) Morning drive to Aviano. After a brief mission introduction, meet local community before we leave for Grappa vineyards. Visit the distillery in Bassano della Grappa. Continue to Lake Como. Hotel Como 4*

Oct 28, Tuesday: Milan - Lake Como (B, D) Morning tour of Milan includes Cathedral, Gallery, Scala Theatre and Museum, Sforza Castle, Last Supper (inside visit), Arch of Peace, Arena (outside), Monumental Cemetery (outside). Return to Como, for an afternoon cruise followed by a farewell dinner at a local village restaurant. Hotel Como 4*
