Tour Itinerary:
Day 1, 16 July: Depart Los Angeles in the morning and cross the International Date Line.
Day 2, 17 July: Arrive on Guam in the early evening and transfer to the Outrigger Guam Resort. Enjoy a traditional Chamorro welcome.
Day 3, 18 July: Historical Tour of Andersen Air force Base to include the museum, and the Arc Light Memorial with lunch at the "Top of the Rock". Remainder of afternoon at leisure. B,L.
Day 4, 19 July: Full day touring the southern part of the island including Asan Beach and Overlook, Agat Point, the museum, and the War Dog Memorial. Late lunch at the famous "Jeff's Pirates Cove". B,L.
Day 5, 20 July: Enjoy a leisurely day with a trip to the Gef Pa'go cultural village where you will learn about local historical crafts, entertainment and a have traditional Chamorran meal. B,L.
Day 6, 21 July: Special Liberation Day ceremonies followed by the parade. Liberators and their family members will be honored by the people of Guam. The day will end with a fireworks display. B,L.
Day 7, 22 July: Today is a day of leisure, relaxation, and last minute shopping. Enjoy the ambience of the Outrigger Resort prior to a farewell dinner. B,D.
Day 8, 23 July: Depart for the mainland in the early morning, and arrive the same day. (or depart for Post Tour to Saipan)
Post Tour to Saipan
Day 1 - 23 July: After an early morning departure from Guam, a full day WWII history tour of Saipan beginning at the newly opened American Memorial Park Visitor Center. Next , the 2d and 4th Marine Division beaches where you can feel how exposed the Marines were to Japanese observers on Mt Tapotchau towering 1500 feet above us. Follow the progression of the battle south to Aslito/Isley airfield. Next proceed through the infamous "Death Valley," flanked on the east by "Purple Heart Ridge" and on the west by the ever-imposing Mt Tapotchau. Following the flowed of the 1944 battle northward, pass the notorious battle site of the mass banzai attack. End the day at "Suicide Cliff" and "Banzai Cliff," the sites of mass suicides. Here, where the battle for Saipan ended, are impressive memorials to peace. B,L, provided
Day 2 - 24 July: Fly to Tinian Island. Marvel at the small, narrow invasion beaches where the Marine landings surprised the Japanese defenders. and see pillboxes and the rusted hulk of a landing craft. Explore the now abandoned North Field…in 1944-45 the most active airfield in the world with hundreds of B-29 bombers and tens of thousands of airmen and support troops. Visit the "bomb pits" where the atomic bombs were loaded and see Runway Able where the Enola Gay took off for Hiroshima. Fly to Saipan late afternoon. Group dinner on the beach. B,L,D provided
Day 3 - 25 July: Participate in a moving ceremony at the American Memorial Park. Where each veteran will be individually honored. We will then visit the CNMI Museum and the Japanese jail. After lunch the remainder of the day will be at leisure to take care of any unfinished shopping, take a swim, and to pack for an early morning flight to Guam and on to the mainland. B,L provided
Day 4 - 26 July: Depart early this morning for the flight to Los Angeles, crossing the International Date Line and arriving at 0500 the same day.
