Tour Itinerary:

Day 1 October 13 - Depart Los Angeles
Depart Los Angeles International Airport for overnight flight.

Day 2, October 14 - Arrive Tientsin (Tianjin)
En route, we transfer through South Korea, for our flight to Tientsin. Upon arrival in Tientsin this afternoon, we check into our hotel. After a short tour, we have a “Welcome Aboard” Dinner.

Day 3, October 15- Tientsin
We begin our travels in China as we enjoy a full day tour of sights of interest around Tientsin, including visits to the Tientsin History Museum and a local museum that highlights western influence on the city’s history. Following our tour, we return to our hotel, where we prepare for a very special "62nd Anniversary China Reunion Dinner” at the famous Astor Hotel.

Day 4, October 16 - Tientsin - 63rd Anniversary Commemoration
Today we commemorate the 62ndAnniversary of the Japanese Surrender in 1945 with a visit to the site of the original event, Gen Rockey’s III Marine Amphibious Corps HQ. This afternoon, we continue with stops including the French Arsenal, British Officer's Club, 1st Marine Division HQ, the Catholic Church, the Concession Areas, and the American Red Cross Building.

Day 5, October 17- Tientsin and Peitaho
This morning, we depart Tientsin for Peitaho and Chingwangtao by motorcoach. We will see the villas of senior Party members in this formerly exclusive seaside town and the famous Eagle Rock where Chairman Mao wrote many of his poems. We will follow our short tour with check in and a group dinner. Meals: B, L, D

Day 6, October 18- Peitaho & Chingwangtao
Today we begin a full day tour of the former USMC sites around Peitaho and Chingwangtao and the famous Dragon's Head where the Great Wall of China rises out of the Yellow Sea. We also get a chance to see the historic Shanhaiguan Gate and Pass. Meals: B, L, D

Day 7, October 19- Peitaho and Beijing
We depart this morning from Peitaho for Beijing, where in the afternoon we begin our tour of the capital of China. We visit Tiananmen Square and the surrounding area for a bus/walking tour of the old Legation Quarter made famous during the Boxer Rebellion. Sites to be visited include the famous Hotel Wagon-Lits, the actual fortified compound during the Boxer Seige and the site of the action for Dan Daly's Medal of Honor on August 14, 1900. Meals: B, L, D

Day 8, October 20 - Beijing
We continue our tour with a visit to the ancient “Forbidden City” and Imperial Palace, home of Chinese Rulers until the Last Emperor, Pu Yi, was deposed by the Japanese. Following lunch, we continue to the historic Temple of Heaven. Meals: B, L, D

Day 9, October 21 - Beijing
We continue our exploration of Beijing with a visit to the Summer Palace, Bell Tower, as well as a tour of the Old Beijing of the 30's and 40's via an exotic Hutong Rickshaw Tour. This evening we take a sleeper cabin train from Beijing to Xian. Meals: B, L, D

Day 10, October 22 - Beijing and Xian
This morning we fly from Beijing and enjoy a city tour of Xian, to include the City Wall, Wild Goose Buddhist Temple and Drum Tower.

Day 11, October 23 - Xian
Today we explore one of the great wonders of the ancient world as we tour the famed Terracotta Warriors. Museum, which chronicles the life of those who built the incredible warriors. We end the day with a relaxing visit to the Tang Dynasty Hot Spring Garden to relax in this site’s beauty.

Day 12, October 24 - Xian and Tsingtao
Flight this morning from Xian to Tsingtao. Upon arrival, we check into our hotel and begin our tour of the city, revisiting sites of interest including Gen. Shepard's HQ's, the German Governor's House and Ocean University, former site of 6th Mar Div HQ. Meals: B, L, D

Day 13, October 25 - Tsingtao
Depart for a visit of a Chinese Kindergarten followed by
a VIP tour of the world-famous Tsingtao Brewery. Enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour and sample some of the fine product of this landmark brewery. This afternoon, we tour the Chinese Naval Museum, Badaguan, Granite Stone Hill, the Pier and Little Fish Hill. Meals: B, L, D

Day 14, October 26 - Tsingtao
Some depart Tsingtao this morning for a flight back to Los Angeles or hopefully we all head south for the famed river city of Shanghai.

Post Tour Itinerary:
26 October (Day One)
Fly from Tsingtao to Shanghai by a morning flight. Visit the famed Huangpu Waterfront with it’s old colonial buildings. Check into the historic and beautiful Broadway Mansions Hotel located a short walking distance from the Bund river walk. Meals: B, L, D

27 October (Day Two)
A visit to the Yu Yuan Garden starts our day in Shanghai, followed by a visit to the landmark TV Tower (from here have a panoramic view of this city which blends the old and new China with a hint of colonial Europe mixed in), and the Pudong District. The evening is highlighted by a boat trip along the Huangpu River to see Shanghai and the Bund at night. Meals: B, L, D

28 October (Day Three)
Visit the Shanghai Museum the finest in China as well as shopping along Nanjing Road where Asian bargains can be found in abundance. Enjoy the many sights and sounds of this bustling metropolis. Tonight is our Farewell Dinner. Meals: B, L, D

29 October (Day Four)
Transpacific flight home from Shanghai. (Cross International Dateline, Arrive LAX same day.)
