In the early afternoon, we will proceed to the American Cemetery for a memorial service. The remainder of the day is at leisure to unwind and relax from the long flight. In the evening, we will enjoy a welcome dinner.
Meals: D

(Day Three)
A full city tour of Intramuros (Macarthur's headquarters), Santo Tomas University, and Roxas Park. We will also visit the old Manila Hotel, site of much of Manila's political history. Lunch will be provided at a local restaurant in the Ermita district, featuring the best of Filipino cuisine. Most of the day will focus on the role played by Manila Bay throughout the colonial era and World War II. Meals: B/L

(Day Four)
Early morning departure for a full day tour of the Island Fortress of Corregidor, led by one of Manila's most informative military guides. Lunch is included at the magnificent Corregidor Island Hotel, overlooking Manila Bay. This unusual tour includes going down into Malinta Tunnel to view the "Light and Sound" show. Continuing our tour of Corregidor Island we visit the remains of Barracks and other facilities on the island, as well the Coastal Artillery Fortifications with their disappearing guns still in place. We return to the Corregidor Inn this evening for and overnight. Hotel: Corregidor Inn Meals: B/L/D

(Day Five)
Following breakfast, we continue our touring of Corregidor Island and remnants of both the American and Japanese Defense, as well as the airborne assault on “the Rock” in 1945. We depart this afternoon for Manila, with time upon arrival for shopping or sightseeing on your own. Meals: B/L

(Day Six)
Early morning departure for the drive to Subic Bay and Olongapo. The drive will take approximately 3 hours, with stops in San Fernando and Santo Guillermo (Bacalor) Church, and an overview of the Pampangas River region. The San Fernando Train Station is featured for the role it played in the infamous Bataan Death March. San Fernando is significantly featured in Hampton Side's book "Ghost Soldiers." We will arrive in Subic Bay and settle into our hotel. A brief overview tour of Subic Bay follows in the afternoon, and an evening dinner and entertainment is tentatively scheduled, provided by the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority.
Hotel: Subic International Meals: B/L/D

(Day Seven)
After breakfast, we depart for a full day's tour of Bataan Peninsula, to include the full route of the Death March, sites of some of the most bitter fighting in 1942 around Samat, Mariveles, Abucay, Balanga, and more. This day also offers a fascinating, and different perspective on the western side of Manila Bay. The day is capped off with a visit to Mount Samat and the huge cross (monument) on top the mountain, from which you can view most of Bataan Peninsula. We'll enjoy a spectacular luncheon buffet at "Villa Edna" in Limay. We arrive back in Subic Bay around 7:00 in the evening. Tentatively scheduled: an evening social provided by the City of Olongapo. Meals: B/L/D

(Day Eight)
Today we depart Subic Bay and trace the northern portion of the Death March toward Clark Air Force Base and the city of Angeles. We will also visit Capas and Camp O'Donnell and various battle sites of engagements with the Japanese invasion of 1942. There are magnificent monuments commemorating the courage of our Filipino and American soldiers held captive after the Bataan and Corregidor campaigns. Ample time will be allowed to view these sites and historical comment will be provided. We will overnight at the Holiday Inn and Resort on the old Clark Air Force Base, which is now an International Freeport and Trade Zone. A tour of the base is included, along with a visit to Clark's unique military museum.

(Day Nine)
Another full day of touring, as we leave Clark AFB and drive toward Cabanatuan, and the former prison camp. This was "the end of the line" for the Bataan Death Marchers, and the site of one of World War II's most interesting stories, as featured in "The Ghost Soldiers." We will also visit Cabu Bridge, the place where Pajota's guerilla forces ambushed and killed a thousand Japanese on their way to save the Japanese garrison at Cabanatuan Prison Camp. Late in the afternoon, we travel north to Lingayen Gulf and the city of Dagupan, site of Macarthur's triumphant second landing to liberate Manila and Luzon Island. We will tour the landing beaches and other sites around the Bay. Meals: B/L/D

(Day Ten)
Today we continue to trace the invasion beaches around Lingayen, and drive north to San Fernando La Union, where numerous Japanese "Hell Ships" departed with American POWs in 1943. There will be plenty of time to visit the memorials around the central park and beach areas of Dagupan. In the afternoon, we return to our resort at Dagupan. Meals: B/L

(Day Eleven)
Early morning departure for tour of the rice areas of Pangasinan (the route of march for the American Liberation Forces as they fought their way toward Manila). We will arrive back in Manila in the late afternoon after visiting the infamous Calumpit Bridge and Calumpit River areas north of Manila. This evening we join together for a Farewell Dinner in Manila.

(Day Twelve)
Depart Manila at noon aboard a Korean Air flight to Incheon. In the early evening, we will leave Incheon aboard Korean Air Flight 11, cross the International Dateline, and arrive back in Los Angeles (LAX) at approximately 3:20 p.m. on the same day.
