Military Historical Tours is proud to offer another in our series of historic anniversary tours to the battlefields of the world. Our tour starts in London, with a tour of all the must see historical sites along the River Thames. Take in all the cultural highlights plus an emphasis on WWII as the Battle of Britain as we visit the Imperial War Museum at Duxford to remember the epic struggle versus Hitler’s Third Reich and ended with many departing from Portsmouth for Operation Overlord on D-day. We proceed to Portsmouth with stops at fascinating Stonehenge and Windsor Castle. In Portsmouth we see the grander of Her Majesty’s Royal Navy and the D-Day Museum. It will be a fun and entertaining MHT trip to Merry Ole England.

The group will fly into London. Stay in the heart of London. Visit Trafalgar Square and Piccadilly Circus. Visit Buckingham Palace for the changing of the guards. Tour Churchill’s War Rooms, his cabinet operations center in London. See the Bomber Tour Memorial. Spend half a day at the amazing Imperial War Museum at Duxford. Next we are off to Dover Castle, a medieval castle in Kent. Visit the Battle of Britain Memorial near the Cliffs of Dover. Back in the city we head for theTower of London. We will tour Tower Bridge and see the London Eye. Visit Westminster Abbey on the south bank of the Thames River. Walk past 10 Downing Street, home to the Prime Minister. See Big Ben and Parliament. Next we head for the Battle of Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Center, where a kingdom was lost for the want of a horse. Heading towards Portsmouth, we will stop at Stonehenge and Windsor Castle. In Portsmouth we will visit the D-Day Museum and board the HMS Victory (Admiral Nelson’s flagship at the Battle of Trafalgar). We end out time in Portsmouth with a visit to the Royal Navy Submarine Museum. Time permitting we will visit the Charles Dickens Birthplace Museum. After a group dinner we return to London for our flights home.
